“I want to thank everyone who has helped plan this awesome event, everyone who is planning on participating and helping thank you all SO MUCH!
For those of you who don’t know much about Eli you can follow his story at prayersforsupereli on Facebook. He was born with an abnormality in his urinary tract (he was not able to pee). This caused pee to back up to his kidneys and damaged both kidneys. At one week old he started dialysis. He gets dialysis at home over night for 8 hours. Eli has surpassed what doctors said he would and would not be able to do. He is a happy boy full of energy. His journey has not been easy he has had 6 surgeries and many more to come.
Next step is surgery in April to prepare for the transplant this summer. I (his momma) will give him one of my kidneys. I wish with all my heart I could say this will save him but I know that’s not true. There is no cure for kidney disease. This transplant will allow him to be without dialysis but he will take medications for the rest of his life. We hope my kidney will live in him for a very long time. There is no way of knowing how long before his body rejects my kidney. We stay strong and positive knowing we have all of you helping and sending us prayers and positive thoughts. It feels great!
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!” –Lizett Samaniego
